In an Ottawa Home Depot last week Anna Riel, a Home Depot greeter, was attacked by a customer’s dog and forcing Home Depot to change their pet policies in stores across Canada. The new policy of having no pets allowed in Home Depot stores will commence on May 16th, other than the exception of guide dogs. Anna Riel, the victim in this case, was forced to have stitches to repair her torn nose and nostril. Anna was only going to pat the dog when the customer arrived but the dog without any warning jumped at Anna attacking her face. I personally think that this is a terrible situation which sucks for other pet owners whose dogs are well mannered. I realize the precautions they must take and understand their decision on this new policy. I believe this affects Canadians because it should teach us to all get our animals trained or at least understand to have our animals under control when in public. As for Canada and the media taking sides, both parties favoured Anna’s case which I agree with as well.
